Metal Allegiance at the Whisky A Go Go

I have seen hundreds of concerts in my life, and last night I witnessed one of those incredible shows. Metal Allegiance was at the Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, one of four stops on a their short West Coast tour, that also took them to Ramona, CA (Jan 7), Las Vegas, NV (Jan 8), Los Angeles, CA (Jan 9) and San Francisco, CA (Jan 10).

I knew I had to see one of these shows and I decided I would fly back to my old stomping grounds to catch the show in Los Angeles. The Metal Allegiance record to me was the best Rock record of 2015. I was counting the days to see this show.

My friends, I was not disappointed. An infuckingcredible show. I honestly do not know how else to put it. The show was great and then throw in the list of guests including Corey Taylor (Slipknot), Andreas Kisser (Sepultura), Dave Lombardo (Slayer), John Tempesta (White Zombie, The Cult) and Mikkey Dee (Motorhead) all came down to jam to pay homage to Lemmy put it over the top. Dave Grohl and Glenn Danzig were also in attendance, but did not perform.

The set list included a handful of tracks from their debut album, as well as some of their favorite covers and ending the evening with a tribute to the baddest mother fucker in Rock N Roll, Lemmy.

The show was truly what Rock n Roll is about. A group of friends and fans coming together to enjoy an evening of music, drinks, and just having a kick ass time both on and off the stage. It is one thing to go and see a band, but it’s entirely different when you see the band on stage having a great time enjoying the music and camaraderie that brought them together in the first place. It then easily translates to the fans having an even better time at the show. I am stoked that I made the trip from Florida.

I also have to mention the band Doll Skin was entertaining to watch as well… New to the scene but definitely a group of talented young ladies, who can throw down with the big boys. I recommend to you to at least check out their EP In Your Face.
